Once a year, the DAbG awards a prize (challenge cup) for the best presentation by a young scientist at the annual workshop, which was awarded for the first time at the 2019 workshop in Vienna to Laura Jentzsch (TU Berlin) for her presentation "A Potentially Brief Habitable Period on Our Moon 3.5 G.a. Years Ago", while the prize for the best poster went to Miriam Kuzman (University of Hohenheim) for her contribution "Mineral Formation during Thermal Treatment of Biomolecules".
